Please Join us

for an educational and interactive garden tour event, located at our Research and Demonstration garden in Kimberley BC!

This year we will be hosting 4 tour events, taking place on the last Saturday of June, July, August and September, and takes place from 10am to 2pm!

During the tour

we'll discuss the 8 principles of Grow Biointensive mini-farming, host a Q & A session, and provide a free skill building workshop with demonstration of GB techniques!

Open to all ages

and experience levels, a fun and educational scavenger hunt will be available for the kids!

Full schedule is as follows:



10:00-10:30: Introductions, orientation, and a brief overview of sustainability and why we practice Grow Biointensive mini-farming.

10:30-11:30: Guided tour of the 7,000 square foot gardens, with discussion and visual demonstration of the 8 principles of Grow Biointensive mini-farming.

11:30-12:00: An opportunity for Q&A, with access provided to Grow Biointensive publications, charts, data and information sheets.

12:00-12:30: Break!
*Tea/Coffee/Water provided
*An opportunity to explore or just be in the gardens
*Optional self teaching and observation exercise provided for group discussion
*Scavenger hunt begins


12:30-1:00: Sharing garden observations, open discussion and additional Q&A (conclusion of scavenger hunt with kids)

1:00-2:00: Skill building workshop with a demonstration of techniques and an opportunity for participants to take part hands on! Workshop topic to be determined based on tour group interests, likely to be one of the following: Flatting seeds and pricking out, Transplanting, Composting, Double Digging and Bed preparation, Garden design, Grain harvesting and threshing/winnowing techniques.
