Red Core Chantenay is an heirloom from France that has been in production since the 1800’s. These carrots are shorter and thick, making them a great choice for clay soils or stony soils.

This variety has been our best storage carrot to date, staying crispy and fresh well into spring. This crop of seed was produced from carrots that over-wintered in ground in 2020, with the largest and fastest sprouting selected for seed production.

We found them to mature very quickly as well compared to longer carrots.
